Teen Ministry

From the incipient stages of LBC we have placed an emphasis on this particular ministry.  We have a heart to win the teenager to Christ and then instruct him/her in ways that will please the Lord.  Our teen leadership is dedicated and excited about their work with our young people.

Each month our Teen Group meets for T-MAC (Teens Meet After Church).  At this meeting there is always a fun time of games, activities or fireside get-togethers.  Each T-MAC culminates with a sermon from our Youth Director on a topic specific to their life situation.

We hold our young people to high standards and they meet and exceed those standards.  We do our best to protect the teens God gives us from ungodly influences of daily life.  We desire to help them live in the world without falling prey to the pressure of the world.  Our teens are wonderful! In February we take them 4 hours north to a winter revival/ski-tacular event.  This is a huge hit with our group and their favorite time of year.  They have an entire day of skiing the slopes of Northern Michigan and then a full day of preaching, returning home Saturday evening around 9PM.  The next Lord’s Day they all give testimony of what God has done in their individual life.

In early summer we take the young people to one of the amusement parks within driving distance (i.e., Cedar Point Ohio, Six Flags Illinois, Michigan Adventure)

July of each year finds us traveling to southern Indiana to Indian Creek Baptist Camp run by Shawnee Baptist Church of Louisville, KY.  Our young people have this week zeroed in each summer.  We have seen amazing fruit from this dedicated week of separation from the activity of the world (i.e., radio, music, TV, DVDs, etc.).  They return home from week at camp with their lives transformed and their parents humbled and thankful they sent their teenagers.

In August we hold a Back-To-Class Revival that helps to equip them with a spiritual mindset as they prepare to walk the halls of school for another year.  The temptations will be greater each year they advance in school so we use this time to disarm the enemy as they prepare to attack our young people.

In between these events we encourage our teens to join the church as we often travel to various churches of like mind for revivals, mission conferences, etc.  We usually have 20-30 people travel with us.

If you are a teenager I know you will find LBC a place of vibrant activity with godly mindset that will help you overcome the pressure you are experiencing.  If you are a parent you have found the church that will compliment your desires to raise godly young people for the glory of our God.
